RTI Technology Transfer Support
As part of the NIAIDs TB Drug Development Program, RTI is providing technology transfer support for promising anti-TB compounds that have been successfully screened through the TAACF program.
Partnerships are the best strategy for results-oriented research and development of TB drugs, and RTIs goals are to find ways to bring together pharmaceutical companies, research labs, foundations, and international organizations to cooperatively develop, test, and introduce new TB therapies.
RTI can assist suppliers by providing:
- Resources and opportunities to find partners to aid in the development of a promising anti-TB compound. The NIAID offers resources to assist with many steps in the development process and can assist with funding and collaboration opportunities.
- Market and pharmacoeconomic data on global TB trends. RTI recently completed a new report for the Global Alliance for TB Drug Development entitled, The Economics of TB Drug Development. The report provides the first in-depth analysis of the global market, development costs, and potential financial and social return on investment for anti-TB drugs in 30 years. It challenges myths regarding the market and development costs for new TB drugs. The report is free and can be downloaded here.
